Racers ,Fans and the Speedway prepare for the 50th Alabama 200

August 29th, 2014 Montgomery Alabama:

Registrations are rolling in to the track office as racers prepare for the prestigious 50th running of the Alabama 200.  Landon Cling #68 from Tempe, Arizona was the first to file his paperwork with the speedway. The young driver races out of Mooresville, NC and will have the first choice of tires and the final qualifying spot due to his early registration.  Entries have been received from Anderson Bowen Suwanee Ga.#29, Donnie Wilson #2 Oklahoma City, OK, Casey Roderick #7 Lawrenceville Ga., Kyle Grissom #31Concord, NC and more rolling in daily. Commitments from Logan Boyett, Mike Garvey, David O’Dell, Keith Cahela plus the regulars of the Southern Super series make this event one of the tops in the country.

The night will also feature the Open Sportsman Division, Uncle Bob’s self Storage Street Stocks, Modified Minis and the MARS Motorcycle racing series.

Fans will be treated to a clean view of the racing as the large haulers will be removed before the racing action starts. The 50th Alabama 200 will feature the Southern super Series and will consist of 200 laps of racing action with a competition caution and a redraw after qualifying for the top 8. Teams will be allowed 8 tires for the race and expect a competitive race as some of the top names in super Late Model racing plan to attend. An open practice will be held Friday Sept. 5 with gates opening at 4pm and practice from 5 till 9. Saturday pit gates will open at 10am and practice for all divisions will start at 1pm.
