Montgomery, Alabama (July 6, 2026) — Fireworks erupted both on and off the race track on Saturday night at Montgomery Motor Speedway.
America’s 250th Birthday Bash presented by ZAP Pest Control proved to be a special celebration of life, liberty, and the pursuit of speed. With the four of the track’s core divisions taking part in the fun, plenty of great racing action was showcased in front of a great crowd of fans.
Chris Wagner Returns to Late Model Sportsman Victory Lane
It was a pretty straightforward affair for Chris Wagner (no. 5), who led from flag to flag en route to his first Black Sheep Woodlands Late Model Sportsman victory since September of 2025. Trey Grimes (no. 51) set the fast time in qualifying, but started sixth as a result of winning the most recent Late Model Sportsman feature back in June, therefore handing Wagner the top spot on the grid to start the race. Wagner, the 2025 Late Model Sportsman champion, was thankful to visit Front Porch Grill victory lane for the first time this season.
“It felt good,” said Wagner. “We had to take a couple races off beacuse of family stuff and other obligations, so it was good to get back to where we left off last year. We struggled a little bit, got a new motor and we’re trying to get it all figured out, but I think we’re going in the right direction.”
Behind Wagner, Jeff Thompson (no. 2) and Trey Grimes (no. 51) rounded out the podium in second and third places respectively. Thomas Hartzog (no. 00) finished fourth, with Branon Bishop (no. 75) coming home fifth.

Timothy Watson Continues Strong Championship Run with Another Outlaw Triumph
The current points leader for the South Alabama Plumbing & Electric Outlaws made his return to Front Porch Grill Victory Lane on Saturday. Timothy Watson (no. 28) was fastest in Outlaw Late Model qualifying, but started on the second row by virtue of the invert. Watson was in pursuit of Cameron Henderson (no. 92) for a majority of the race, but led the final six laps to score the victory and strengthen his points lead.
“I was just trying to keep the tires under it, this place eats up tires,” said Watson in victory lane. “Around 15 to go, I was like ‘Well I should probably start pushing a little harder,’ and thankfully I just had enough to get by [Henderson].”
Henderson ultimately came home in the runner-up position, with Spencer Bragg (no. 08) rounding out the podium in third. Keeton Harris (no. 07) finished in fourth.

Chad Robinson Climbs Through the Field to Score Street Stock Win
When Chestnut Creek Materials and Hometown Automotive Solutions offer a combined $300 bonus to the hard charger, you better believe that some of the fierce Shelby Concrete Street Stock competitors will take advantage of that opportunity. Such was the case for Chad Robinson (no. 10), who elected to start in the rear of the field before ultimately ascending to the top spot by the time the checkered flag flew. Holding off the 2026 Street Stock Tri-Track Cruise Quest champion, Darvin Lyons (no. 10), on a late race restart, Robinson had his hands full as he found his way to Front Porch Grill Victory Lane.
“I’ve got to thank everybody that helps me,” said Robinson. “I’ve got to thank my fiancé for letting me do this on a holiday. Man, I’m tired, I ain’t gonna lie. It’s hot.”
Lyons, who also elected to start in the rear, had to settle for a second place finish. Tommy Lemley (no. 7) had a career-best finish of third to round out the podium, with Kameron Wesenberg (no. 32) and Dawson Parker (no. 16) rounding out the top five. Hunter Bobo (no. 51) originally crossed the line in fourth place, but was disqualified in post-race technical inspection due to excessive left-side weight.

Austin Reeves Claims Crown Stock Victory and Hard Charger Award
Much like Chad Robinson and Darvin Lyons, Austin Reeves (no. 6) elected to start from the rear of the Hometown Automotive Solutions Crown Stock field in search of the hard charger bonus. The main challenge for Reeves was the fact that the Crown Stock class had the biggest field of the night, meaning that he’d have even more work to do during his quest to Front Porch Grill victory lane. It didn’t deter the fast qualifier Reeves, as he methodically worked his way to the front and took the lead with seven laps remaining, holding on to score the win.
“I didn’t think I could do it,” said Reeves post-race. “These guys have blessed me with a good car. I appreciate everyone racing me clean up through the field. The last thing Curt Britt told me before I put the helmet on was to use the bumper, so I was willing to send them to get up there.”
Behind Reeves, Justin Cruise (no. 45) and Jonathan Johnson (no. 4) rounded out the podium positions. Marty Bean (no. 15) and Spencer Bragg (no. 08) completed the top five.
