The 58th Alabama 200 is set for March 5th, 2022 at Montgomery Motor Speedway. Every year the Alabama 200 features many of the countries best drivers. This year the stakes are even higher, the Alabama 200 will pay $10,000 to win. Both young, up and coming drivers and seasoned veterans look to earn a chance to hoist the unique hand carved Black BEAR trophy from Montgomery Motor Speedway in Victory Lane.
The Alabama 200 has become one of the countries most prestigous races and helped gain National recognition for Pro Late Model racing at Montgomery Motor Speedway. The Alabama 200 dates all the way back to 1960 with some of Nascars biggest names winning the prestigous event. Names such as “The King” Richard Petty and the original Alabama Gang Members Red Farmer, Bobby Allison, Donnie Allison. Short track legends Ronnie Sanders, Mike Harmon, and 5 time Alabama 200 winner Augie Grill. Racing legends such as Neil Bonnett and Jody Ridley. Most recently in 2015 current Nascar Cup Series driver and 2020 Cup Series Champion Chase Elliott hoisted the hand carved Bear in Victory Lane.
This years 58th Annual Alabama 200 looks to be one of the biggest ever. Coming off of a huge season for late model racing across the southeast, a season which featured 3 different winners in Victory Lane at Montgomery Motor Speedway in 2021. The 2021 Alabama 200 winner and 2021 Show me the MONEY series Champion, Christopher Tullis will look to become a back-to-back winner of the famous Alabama 200. The 2021 season also featured 2020 Alabama 200 winner Jake Garcia find Victory Lane. For most of the season Christopher Tullis and Jake Garcia, two Georgia natives battled swapping wins. With two races left Anthony Campi Racing’s Jett Noland found Victory lane passing Jake Garcia on the last lap. Jett Noland would go on to win the season finale on November 6th as well.

The 58th Annual Alabama 200 will also feature the Modifieds of Mayhem 58 lap race for the 58th Annual event. The Modifieds of Mayhem Tour has become a fan favorite at all stops along the tour, featuring some of the best short track drivers from all over the country. The Modifieds of Mayhem or MOM Tour for short, had people talking at the Snowball Derby about the show these guys put on wherever they go. Florida native Cody Stickler picked up the win at 5 Flags Speedway after out dueling short track legend Stephen Nasse. Stephen Nasse jumped into the Doug Moff owned modified to compete in his first ever MOM Tour event. Along with Montgomery Motor Speedway and 5 Flags Speedway the MOM Tour will also travel to Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway and Crisp Motorsports Park in 2022. The 2022 season got kicked off this past weekend at Crisp Motorsports Park for Speedfest in the North/South Shootout. It was the south prevailing victorious as Florida native Timmy Moore took home the victory. Last years “Hunt for the BEAR 57” featured Mr. Montgomery and short track legend Augie Grill take home the checkered flag and get the win. The “ALABAMA 58” on March 5th is shaping up to be a great field of drivers with intense racing in a 58 lap modified feature.
As well as the Modifieds of Mayhem, the Impact Zone Photos Outlaws will compete in a 40 lap race on March 5th at the 58th Annual Alabama 200. The Outlaws are a fast growing series all across the southeast with a huge field at the Snowball Derby in December. The Outlaws raced at Montgomery a few times in 2021 and never failed to put on a great show. The series is picking up a lot of momentum and races at many tracks across the southeast.
There have been many entries for the Alabama 200 already, and we are looking forward to an exciting weekend for the 58th Annual Alabama 200.
