Alabama State CHAMPIONSHIP!

Many Championships across many divisions would be decided on the night of Champions at Montgomery Motor Speedway. MMS is a very historic track with many big name Champions from the past. Champions would be crowned in the Show me the MONEY PLM series, Shelby Concrete Street Stocks, and Blacksheep Woodlands Late Model Sportsman as well as feature races from the MOM Tour and Roadrunners. It was a weekend for Champions as the Astros won the World Series, Joey Logano, Ty Gibbs and Zane Smith all won Championships in their NASCAR Divisions. Although Alabama and Auburn failed to get wins on Saturday night, we had some big winners in the State Capital at Montgomery Motor Speedway.

Show me the MONEY series 2022 season comes to an end at MMS

A great season in Montgomery started off with one of if not the BIGGEST Alabama 200 ever. A big car count all season saw 66 different Pro Late Models across the 6 Show me the MONEY series races. A series that came down to the final race to decide a 2022 Show me the MONEY Champion featured many big names from all across the Country. Many of whom we will all be watching on Saturdays and Sundays for years to come. On Saturday, it was all Anthony Campi Racing’s #81 Giovanni Ruggiero. Jake Garcia #35 came into the weekend with a 6 point lead, but did not race due to a conflict with his NASCAR Truck series event in Phoenix on Friday night. Gio Ruggiero #81 started on the front row but it was the young gun Gavin Graham #70 jumping out to an early lead in his first ever start at the historic half mile in Montgomery, Alabama. As Graham extended a lead on the field and Ruggiero #81, it was Bryson Shaffer #12 controlling third place with a battle behind the top 3. Jim Wall #91, Dakota Stroup #47, Justin Bonnett #12t, Evan Shotko #22, and JoJo Wilkinson #11 all battling inside the top 10.

A competition caution at lap 50 re-racked the field and it was Gavin Graham #70 yet again jumping out to a lead on the restart. Graham led until under 10 to go when Gio Ruggiero #81 made the move on Graham and secured his second victory at Montgomery Motor Speedway this season and clinched the 2022 Show me the MONEY series Championship! Gavin Graham #70 finished runner-up in his first MMS start in a PLM. Bryson Shaffer #12 finished third and secured his first ever PLM podium at Montgomery Motor Speedway.
