Winners and Champions Score Big Triumphs at Fall Brawl

Montgomery, Alabama (September 22, 2026) — Saturday night’s Fall Brawl at Montgomery Motor Speedway saw winners emerge and champions get crowned.

There was plenty of action across four racing divisions. The night was headlined by the Show Me The Money Pro Late Model Series. The Modifieds of Mayhem Tour’s event served as their points-paying finale. Two core divisions made appearances as well with the Black Sheep Woodlands Late Model Sportsmen and Shelby Concrete Street Stocks taking part in the action.

Right Place, Right Time for John Bolen

With a car that sat dormant since the Alabama 200 all the way back in March, John Bolen (no. 2) found some speed and fortune on his way to victory lane in the Fall Brawl 100 at Montgomery Motor Speedway.

Bolen’s path to the front of the field began with a seventh-place qualifying effort, followed by a fourth-place starting position after the post-qualifying redraw. Bolen stayed within the top five all race long, eventually inheritng the lead after an unfortunate incident between frontrunners Presley Johnson (no. 82j) and Weston Marthaler (no. 100).

Marthaler, the evening’s fast qualifier, made contact with Johnson’s car while battling for the lead. The contact sent Johnson for a spin on the exit of Turn 4, with Marthaler sustaining heavy damage after a hit to the outside wall. The incident moved then third-place racer Bolen to the lead with 40 circuits remaining.

Bolen led the final stretch of the race without much challenge from behind, securing his first win of the year at Montgomery.

“We’ve been out of the race car since late May,” said Bolen in victory lane. “A kid wiped us out in a Super race down here. We regrouped, went home, we all went to work. We’re a family deal. I can’t thank the Eurys and everybody at GMS enough. This is just a testament to the Eurys and everybody that helps us in North Carolina. We’re down here in Alabama, we’re kind of on an island. Without them, we wouldn’t have the speed we do.”

Behind Bolen, the no. 5 machine of Garrett Gumm propelled himself from a sixth-place starting spot to come home in the runner-up spot.

“I thought we [had a chance to win] when we got around the 18 [of Jake Finch] and 82 [of Grant Thompson],” said Gumm. “We had a really fast Mid-South Steel Chevrolet tonight. I don’t know what happened on that one restart. I think the left-front fender was rubbing the left-front there. We fell way back. I was happy to get up to second with that. When I got by the 18 and 82, I thought we had something. They put together a really good race car, and we were just too far back to get to them.”

Despite the incident on Lap 60 that saw Presley Johnson get spun from the lead, the Huntsville, Al. driver managed to work his way back through the field and round out the podium in third.

“We should be sitting where John is,” said Johnson. “Karma, you know? Karma sucks. I’m happy for John, you know. GMS Race Cars put on a show tonight. I feel like I had the car to win. Some stuff happened, but we showed them how hard Tony has been working. These cars are hot rods. I think everywhere we go, we’re a force to be reckoned with.”

Behind Johnson, Show Me The Money Series points leader Jake Finch (no. 18) finished fourth. Ryan Herbert (no. 22) brought his machine home in fifth place.

The Fall Brawl 100 also served as the final race of the Rogers-Dabbs Pro Late Model Challenge. Grant Thompson (no. 82t) came into the event with a four-point lead over James Patrick (no. 11p). Thompson was able to clinch the title with a seventh-place result on Saturday night.

Purvis Wins Fall Brawl 50 While Griffin Clinches 2026 MoM Championship

The points-paying portion of the 2026 Modifieds of Mayhem season came to an end this weekend at Alabama’s House of Speed.

Kyle Purvis (no. 13) made the long trip from Marion, Ohio to Montgomery, Alabama and closed out the year by scoring a victory with the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Modifieds of Mayhem Tour powered by Chevrolet Performance.

It was apparent that Purvis had speed all day long, running competitive practice times and claiming the CT525 Fast Qualifer award.

Despite setting the fastest time in qualifying, Purvis had to start the race from inside the second row by virtue of the redraw. The Ohio driver found himself battling inside the top five for much of the first half of the race, eventually taking the lead on Lap 28. From that point onward, nobody could touch him as he cruised to victory lane.

“The car had really good long run speed, and that’s what we had been working on,” explained Purvis. “I want to thank Tim [Curry] for putting this thing back together. A couple months ago, we wrecked it at Five Flags and it needed a bunch of work. I’ve got to thank everybody for their hard work.”

Behind Purvis, veteran racer Augie Grill came home second in the no. 30 BMF machine, a car that had visited victory lane at Montgomery earlier in 2026 with Kaden Honeycutt behind the wheel.

“It’s a little bittersweet,” said Grill. “I thought we had a little bit better car. John Heil worked his butt off on this thing, got it really good, and I just wasn’t able to run enough laps today. Had some issues on the Pro car and kinda got behind on [the Modified.]”

The podium was completed by the no. 2 car of Jaxon Bishop, who struggled with his car earlier in the weekend.

“From where we started yesterday to where we are now, it’s a lot better,” said Bishop post-race. “I’m excited we ran as good as we did. It’s been a real struggle, but I’m glad we’re getting better. We’ll be ready for the Derby.”

With the Fall Brawl 50 serving as the final points-paying event of the season, the no. 95 of Derrick Griffin came into the event with a 10-point lead over the no. 18 of Kevin Peel. Griffin secured the championship title with a fourth-place result, while Peel finished 14th. The title stands as Griffin’s first with the series.

“I feel pretty good, man. I feel like we let this one get away,” said Griffin. “I do believe we had the fastest race car. It was just a little tough to pass and I didn’t want to take any unnecessary risks to jeopardize what we were going for. I’m glad to be able to finish it off.”

The Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Modifieds of Mayhem Tour powered by Chevrolet Performance will return as part of the action at the 59th Annual Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway. The Modified portion of the event will take place on Friday, December 4th and will be a non-points event for the tour.

Jeremy Williams Scores Dominant Late Model Sportsman Victory

Saturday turned out to be a fairly straightforward day at the office for Jeremy Williams and his no. 22 Late Model Sportsman crew.

Williams was one of a few drivers pulling double duty at the Fall Brawl, competing in the Modifieds of Mayhem race as well. For the Black Sheep Woodlands Late Model Sportsman feature in particular, Williams just could not be stopped. By topping the charts in practice and qualifying, as well as rolling a “1” for the invert, Williams spent plenty of time at the front.

The feature was a straightforward affair also, with Williams leading all 30 laps en route to the win.

“Thanks for all the fans for coming tonight,” said Williams. “I gotta definitely thank Jack McGuire and Anthony [Lilla] for letting me drive this car. We prepared a really good one.”

Behind Williams, veteran racer Billy Melvin (no. 59) came home second, with Trey Grimes (no. 51) in third. J.R. Hartley (no. 12) finished fourth, with his main championship rival Thomas Hartzog (no. 00) rounding out the top five.

Tre Huff Returns to Street Stock Victory Lane with a New Machine

Tre Huff is no stranger to Front Porch Grill victory lane, but his win on Saturday night came in a car he had only raced once before.

The no. 14x Street Stock was the car to beat all day long. Much like Jeremy Williams in the Late Model Sportsman division, Huff’s Shelby Concrete Street Stock machine stayed at the top of the charts throughout practice, qualifying, and race time. Also much like Williams, Huff was one of a few drivers to do double duty, competing in the Modifieds of Mayhem race before climbing into his Street Stock.

Huff started the 25-lap feature event in third place, but quickly found himself in the lead. Huff led 20 of the 25 circuits on his way to the winner’s circle.

“I can’t thank my team enough,” said Huff. “We’ve worked tirelessly on this car.”

Behind Huff, Kameron Wesenberg (no. 32) and Dawson Parker (no. 16) rounded out the podium in second and third respectively. Chad Bearden (no. 33) finished fourth, with Charles Davis (no. 17) coming home fifth.
