July 9, 2025 MONTGOMERY, Ala. – On Saturday, July 5th, nearly 50 fast racecars from our core divisions were unloaded in the pits of Montgomery Motor Speedway for the Independence Celebration. After a couple of months off, we were excited to see our Shelby Concrete Street Stocks, Blacksheep Woodlands Late Model Sportsman, and Hometown Automotive Solutions Crown Stocks back on the track again.

The first events of the night were the Hometown Automotive Solutions Crown Stocks heat races. The 3 heat races were won by #6 Austin Reeves, #8 Chris Salter, and #6 Adam Salter.
After their heat races, we had a 40-lap Blacksheep Woodlands Late Model Sportsman event with #12 JR Hartley leading the field to green. Birmingham’s #22 Jeremy Williams won the Bama Budweiser Fast Time Pole Award, but rolled a 3 for the invert. He started the race from the 2nd row before taking the lead on lap early in the race. Current points leader #5 Chris Wagner started 2nd and defended his position from #77 Jeff Campbell, who came from 5th to finish 3rd, making it both Huntsville’s drivers’ 3rd podium finish of the season. Williams took the lead early in his #22 machine and never looked back until he was in Front Porch Grill Victory Lane.
“Yeah, we just had a bad fast car tonight. We’ve had a little bit of bad luck this year, but everything fell our way tonight. Excited to be back in the modified next weekend in Nashville,” Williams said.

The third event of the night was the 20-lap Hometown Automotive Solutions Crown Stock feature, which saw a strong field of 18 cars take the green flag. It was a great race with battles and passing all throughout the field. #15 Marty Bean took a hard hit into the wall and a few spins through the air on lap 16 bringing out the red flag. Although a little shaken, Bean luckily walking away safely. #20 Tanner Bethea was the hard charger of the race, starting 17th and gaining 12 spots to finish 5th. After setting the quick time, winning his heat race, and dominating the feature, #6 Austin Reeves takes the checkered flag and parks it in Front Porch Grill Victory Lane.

“I really can’t think the Bragg Motorsports guys for the opportunity to drive this thing, it was really fast tonight, and that’s all because of the guys that work on it,” Reeves said.

The fourth event of the evening was the 50-lap Shelby Concrete Street Stock feature. This is the first time we’ve seen our street stocks since the first Tri-Track Cruise Quest race in April, which was won by #8 Will Smith. None other than #6 Charles Davis won the Bama Budweiser Fast Time Pole Award, and rolled a 4 for the invert, Davis Started 7th(Past winners must start the next race no better than 6th) for a win in the first race. #16 Dawson Parker and #31 Ryan Logan led the field to green, and Logan quickly took the lead. Current points leader, #8 Will Smith started the race in 6th and took the 2nd position from Parker, and while Smith tried to take the lead from Logan, he was not successful.
It was an emotional win for Logan, with tears welling up in his and his team’s eyes, in Front Porch Grill Victory Lane. “Man, we were awful in practice. We literally threw the kitchen sink at this thing, and I guess something worked, but I know that it was because of the Lord, and I’m going to thank Him loud and proud tomorrow morning in the church pew,” Logan said.
