Montgomery, Alabama (October 30, 2026) — Don Wilson, an important member of the Montgomery Motor Speedway family, unfortunately passed away this week at the age of 80.
Whether he was driving the pace truck, working stop-and-go, or helping a local race team, Don Wilson was dedicated to the sport and wanted to see it succeed. For several years, he was a vital part of race weekends at Alabama’s House of Speed in one way or another.
Mr. Wilson had a positive impact on everyone he met in the pit area and beyond. His friendly demeanor and passion for short track racing will be dearly missed.
